Bird list for walk on Thursday, March 28, 2019, 9am. - 11:30am., along Willamette River and up Skinner Butte. Weather was cool, mostly sunny. Birds busy in patches, as groups fly through; typical this time of year for this site.

Trip summary by Janet Naylor

High points: Two Wood ducks in a tree,
Bald eagle in new nest; grass growing in old nest.
Bald eagle sitting in tall fir tree not too far South of the new nest, (after the walk, at 11:50am).
Two Cooper’s hawks, flying very high.
Four red-breasted nuthatches
Two or three Townsend’s warblers at top of tall fir,
Migratory warblers: Orange-crowned arrive late March; we saw one! Other migratory warblers will arrive mid-April, so we didn’t see any today.

Wildflowers:
Oso bushes in flower, a few trilliums, and one shooting star in flower.
