Meadowlark Prairie Owls,

It may seem as though the birds are moving around as you view these photos, but that is not the case. Some photos were taken from the east side (off Terry Street), and others were taken from the bike path, which is on the west side of the nest.

By April 21, trees have sprouted their leaves. The leaves obscure the nest and the young owls, so not much detail of the birds can be seen. The Owlets are probably about seven weeks old and at least two of them are now "branching". This is when the young birds leave the nest at night and sometimes do not return to the nest in the morning.
